Why I’m Starting A Blog

There are several reasons why I’m starting this blog and it’s a lot to do with my current lifestyle.
For the past 2 years, I’ve been juggling being a founder and a freelancer. The freelancing work allows me to support my biggest passion – my startup DashHound. And, between the various projects I get to work on and my company, I’m constantly delving into new technologies, and learning new engineering techniques and skills. And, one of the biggest resources I use to hone my craft is blogs.
For engineering, the written form can be way more effective than video. Many tech companies such as Airbnb, Spotify, Slack, Netflix – to name a few – use blogging to share their own findings and best practices.
From time to time, I will post about my experiences of being a founder, being a female developer, being at university or living in Silicon Valley.
But, for the most part, this will be a blog of tutorials (React, React Native, AWS, Spring, Python e.t.c), advice on designing the best tech stack, or posts about what’s the best cloud provider (AWS vs Google Cloud). The list is endless in the world of technology and engineering.
Every day there’s something new to learn, a new idea to share, and new problems to be solved. I hope this blog can help someone save 8-hours of debugging or a headache at making an architectural decision as others have done for me.
There’s a power in sharing knowledge, and being apart of the open source community, to becoming better engineers. I’m excited to start sharing!
